Join the Ranks of Yalort
Here at the religion of Yalortism, joining is free, just like any other religion. All we ask is that you devote the majority of your otherwise meaningless life to worshipping your new and unquestionable deity, Yalort.
Also, you must do anything and everything that we tell you to. And believe everything we tell you, too. DON'T ASK QUESTIONS OR THINK FOR YOURSELF.
FOR THE LOVE OF YALORT, DON'T TRY TO JOIN IF YOU'RE UNDER 14 OR SO!! The *desired* age for members is 14-19 or so; if you're any younger, you just won't be *welome* here and won't *enjoy* it! And don't bother lying about your age; it's *obvious* if you do, y'know. Because it's possible to, uh... use... "technology" to find out your real age! Yes! Don't try it.
IMPORTANT! - Since the original joining system (just fill in the form to immediately create an active account) was being abused, often, and led to many people who merely spammed or never intended to be a long-time member, the new Application System is in place.
Now, to create an account, you just fill out the form below with accurate details (with stress on the word 'accurate' there... don't put fake info!), and then submit it. Then, your application will be considered and judged by the current members. If you're deemed unworthy of joining the ranks of Yalortism, then your application will fail.
If, however, your application is impressive and shows potential, you'll get into this now-exclusive religion thing, and you'll be able to gloat about it and so on and so forth!
You have to wait a couple of days or so (though usually longer than that due to the laziness of the High Priest...) after filling in the form before your account becomes active, though. You'll be sent an email when that period is over telling you whether your application was accepted or rejected.
Now, fill out this form! Accurately!!
Some more notes on trying to apply!
Alright, apparently I need to write *more* here, because some people don't clearly get what the application system is about.
First of all, Yalortism, unlike most things in the world these days, is NOT an 'equal opportunity' site. Not everyone has what it takes to get in. It's sort of an elite 'club', of sorts.
If you don't put effort into your application, then you haven't got much chance of getting in. Because it's not just about writing the application, it's about writing it well.
The following things will be looked for in applications:
- Good grammar and spelling. If you lack these, there's a high chance you'll be disapproved.
- Length. Applications should be longish and detailed, to a degree. Writing but a single, inane sentence in any of the sections will probably get you disapproved as well. Though keep in mind that quality is still more important than quantity, and it is possible to write 'too much'.
- Intelligence. This is the main deciding thing. If you show intelligence in your application - that is, if from what you wrote you sound like an intelligent person - then you'll probably be approved. If not, though, then you'll be disapproved.
- Originality/Personality. If you lack either - that is, if you sound like some generic, normal person with no personality other than the one that everyone else your age has - then you'll probably be disapproved. Also, be sure to list some of your interests in your bio or something; describe yourself as a person.
Yalortism is a site about a religion. Or so it seems. If you just want to come for the religion aspect and the game(s), then you don't really need to join, as such. You can still just visit the site.
You'd only join if you wanted to have *intelligent discussions* with other intelligent people in the forums. And the discussions do require a certain level of intelligence, too; inane drivel about what games you played or what you watched on the telly last night are more than just frowned upon. This is a place for putting forward your ideas and opinions, and getting thought-out feedback and discussion in response. Not just for 'having a chat'.
I can't stress that enough. So only *try* to join if that's what you want to do here.
Also, DO NOT MAKE AN APPLICATION IF:
- You don't intend to be active! We've had several people make applications, get approved, and then never show up. If you just apply on a passing fancy, then don't bother.
- If you made an application already and it was refused!!! You CANNOT - and I stress that - make multiple applications in the hope that one of them will get approved whereas others haven't. You have one chance, and if you're rejected, then YOU ARE REJECTED. Don't try again; your new applications will just be rejected, or probably just deleted.
If you did not read the above text, don't bother trying to apply. If you did, hopefully you got the point of what this site is about, what to include in an application, and whether you should bother applying or not.
Hopefully...
Oh, and getting past the application isn't the 'end of the hard part'; it's the *beginning*. If you have to really, really try to write an application that might get approved, then do you think you'll be able to keep up with the pace of things, where you'll be expected to take part in intelligent discussions at least once a day?
If you write a good application and get approved, but turn out to be an idiot in the forums and so on, then you'll probably just be banned. Keep that in mind.
Fill out your details here. It's generally a rather good idea to fill it out accurately, and to fill out all of the fields, too.
